Build mode: draw walls, set doors, place furniture — in the model
The build step takes the whole screen: tools on the left, storeys on top, the house in the middle. What you change is in the model at once and saves itself.

In short
Build mode is the VEDUTUM editor inside the model itself, not in a drawing beside it. You pick a tool — select, wall, opening, furniture, room, split, measure — drag a wall from point to point, click a door into a wall or place a piece of furniture on the floor. Only the storey you work on is shown, with the camera above it like a model on a table. Keys 1 to 7 choose the tool, H hides the controls, Ctrl+Z takes a step back. Saving happens by itself, a second and a half after the last change. Building costs no points.
What it gives you
One screen, no hunting
Tools, storeys, selection and the save state sit on the same surface. One button hides all of it when only the house should count.
Only the storey you work on
The other storeys and the roof step aside while you build, so you look into the rooms instead of at a façade.
Nothing gets lost
The „save automatically“ switch keeps every change; the status line names the time. Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Shift+Z go back and forward.

How it works
- 01Open the build stepIn a project, build is the second step. It is optional: if you only need pictures, go straight on to look and pictures.
- 02Choose a storeyBasement, ground floor and the upper floors sit along the top. A dot beside a name means something there is unsaved.
- 03Pick a tool and buildDrag a wall from point to point; the ends snap to existing walls. Click an opening onto a wall, furniture onto the floor, and click into an area to name a room.
- 04Change and take backA click selects: walls take a length in metres, furniture turns, moves with the arrow keys and duplicates with Ctrl+D. Delete removes the selection.
- 05Done„Fertig“ (done) returns to the step you came from, with the whole house in view. By then everything is saved.
Why in the model and not in the plan
A wall that looks right on a floor plan can be wrong in the room: set too low, on the wrong side of an axis, with a door that swings into a staircase. In the model you see both at once — the layout from above and the room somebody will stand in.
So VEDUTUM builds in the same model the pictures come from. What you drag here is exactly the geometry the image model is later given as its brief; there is no second file to keep in step.
Building is optional
The straight path is: upload the plan, have it read, check it, choose the look, produce pictures. Build sits in between for the cases a drawing does not cover — a wall missing from the submission sheet, a room without a name, furniture for a sales brochure.
Skipping it costs nothing: the model comes out of the plan that was read either way. And building itself is free — points are spent on pictures and clips.
On a phone
On a phone the tools sit along the bottom, the storeys in a row on top, and the camera steps back so a whole storey fits on screen. One finger builds, two fingers turn the view.
Questions and answers
Does building cost points?
No. Walls, openings, rooms and furniture are free. Points are spent on reading a storey and on the pictures and clips produced.
Do I have to build before making pictures?
No, the step is optional. Pictures come out of a plan that was read without a single change.
What if I misclick?
Ctrl+Z takes the last step back, Ctrl+Shift+Z restores it. Both are buttons in the top right as well.
Is my work saved automatically?
Yes, a second and a half after the last change while the switch is on. The status line says when it last saved, and the switch can be turned off at any time.
