A planning application sheet carries floor plans, sections and elevations side by side. VEDUTUM looks for the floor plans on it, reads each storey on its own and builds a model you check before an image is made.
In short
You upload the sheet as a PDF. VEDUTUM looks for the floor plans on it — basement, ground floor, upper floors — cuts each one out and reads it separately: walls, openings, rooms and the scale in metres. Sections, elevations and site plans are left out. Every storey lands in the project as its own plan, which you can correct in the editor. The basement keeps its storey but does not count towards the visible volume.

What is on such a sheet
An A1 or A0 application sheet rarely carries one floor plan. Four storeys side by side, two sections, four elevations, a site plan, a legend and the title block are the normal case. Only the floor plans matter for a model — everything else would distort the geometry if it were read along.
So reading runs in two stages: one pass that finds and names the floor plans on the sheet, then one pass per storey on the cut-out area. That costs a point per storey, and in return each storey gets the full resolution of its crop instead of an eighth of the whole sheet.
What to check afterwards
Dimension chains sit close to the walls on application drawings, hatching overlaps openings, and some doors are drawn as a swing only. Expect single openings to be missing or a wall to be read too long.
That is what the editor is for: drag walls, move openings, name rooms — all in metres, before an image is made. A check run compares the drawing with the plan that was read and proposes corrections; only what you tick is applied.
When storeys come as separate files
If every storey is its own file, upload them all at once; the storey is guessed from the file name and can be changed per row.
If you only have the ground floor, give the number of storeys — the model repeats that plan upwards until a plan of its own arrives.
Frequently asked questions
Which formats does the upload take?
PDF, JPG, PNG and WebP up to 50 MB. From a multi-page PDF you pick the page with the floor plans; only that page is uploaded, as an image.
Are sections and elevations read as well?
No. Only floor plans are looked for. Sections, elevations, site plans, legends and the title block stay out, because they would distort the geometry.
What happens to the basement?
It gets a storey of its own and stays available as a plan, but it does not count towards the visible volume — otherwise the underground garage would stand above ground in the image.
What does reading cost?
One point for finding the plans on the sheet and one point per storey read. A set with four storeys therefore costs five points before a single image is calculated.
